Is Scripture Union a Church?
NO, SU is NOT a church but an interdenominational Christian ministry that promotes and encourages Christian fellowship in schools. SU works with local churches to encourage the spiritual growth of young people while deepening their faith relationship with Jesus Christ. Scripture Union promotes Christian fellowship amongst all denominations through camps, rallies, concerts etc in schools.
What is the doctrinal background of Scripture Union?
SU believes in the infallibility of the BIBLE as the word of God. To assist the Christian Church and encourage the study of the Bible, especially to the children and youths, so that those to whom are presented:
i. May come to personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ;
ii. May be encouraged and instructed in the development of Christian character and witness; and
iii. May take their place as members in the life of their churches and of society.
How many people work at Scripture Union?
SU is a network of volunteers who give their time, talents and resources to support the vision and mission of SU in schools. The Council Members and Trustees of the Ministry are also volunteers and do not receive any honorarium. We have a dynamic group of young people called School Working Group who are former secondary school CF members, most are young adults or tertiary students, who give their time to help and motivate other young people especially those in schools to succeed through Christian principles and values.
How is Scripture Union funded?
SU is a non-profit organization and relies on donations and good-will by friends of the ministry. SU does not receive any funding or support from the government, or churches but on the goodwill of its volunteers and friends. It is a faith based ministry and 50 years of service in Fiji is a testimony of that. Our work in schools, programs and activities are all funded by generous and goodwill donations.
Can I support Scripture Union?
YES, this is fertile ground and the thousands of young people who have gone through Christian fellowship in schools have today become national, church, community, family and professional leaders. It is not SU that changes people; it is Jesus Christ only and the power of His word. SU is just a ministry available for the Kings work to our children and families in Fiji.

Our Ministries vary in any given year. From Annual Camps, to rallies, to activities that are not only fun but spiritually empowering as our young people grown in confidence, in respect for one another, in the fear of the Lord and especially in being good role models and Christians. At Scripture Union, it is our objective to equip a young person with the tools, the skills, the knowledge and the ability through the Word of God for them to be able to make the right choices as young adults and as responsible sons and daughters, leaders and citizenry.
